Welcome to the 17th Conference of the International Association of Colloid and Interface Scientists, IACIS2022

On behalf of the Local Organising Committee we would like to extend a warm welcome to all delegates and guests attending the 17th Conference of the International Association of Colloid and Interface Scientists (IACIS) in Brisbane, Australia and online.

The Australasian Colloid and Interface Society (ACIS) is honoured to host this meeting, which was last held in Australia in 1994. We look forward to a stimulating gathering that brings together scientists from around the world investigating colloid and interface science in all its many forms. We are committed to creating an inclusive, accessible, supportive, and harassment-free environment for scientific exchange for every participant, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, or religion.

The in-person IACIS2022 will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) situated in South Bank in downtown Brisbane. BCEC is easily accessible by car, bus, train or CityCat/ferry along the Brisbane River, and is surrounded by accommodation options.

Information on the conference scientific and social program, including Plenary and Keynote Speakers, our code of conduct, and information about support packages will be available shortly, so watch this space, or follow @IACIS2022 on Twitter or Facebook, for updates.

As we welcome you to the IACIS2022, we are grateful for the contributions of the Local Organising Committee, the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, Tourism & Events Queensland and Arinex, our professional conference organiser.

We look forward to welcoming you all to Brisbane, and I hope you will also explore Queensland, and plan to take some time to also visit other parts of Australia and New Zealand.

Yours sincerely,

Ian Gentle and Gregory Warr
